Happy Monday friends! I hope this week is off to a good start for you. This weekend, as my last post said (go check out my weekend packing list), I went to Georgetown as a final celebration of my 21st birthday and a chance to see my lovely family. Unfortunately, sickness crept in causing my mom and sister not be able to come so it became a dad-daughter weekend.
I arrived before my dad on Friday so I checked into the hotel by myself (#adulting would you like a NY times ma’am?). I decided to walk down to M street for a little shopping and future townhouse shopping. I felt like a local and I definitely could feel myself being there one day.
Once my dad arrived, we went downstairs and had a glass of wine. We just talked and watched all of the Republican governors who were staying there go about their business. We then went to Il Canale, a pizza/Italian shop we had been to the year before. We sat upstairs and outside on the terrace (in February can you believe it) to enjoy our meal. After dinner, we went to the rooftop bar at the W hotel which has an amazing view of the White House.
The White House is actually behind us in this picture which was just so cool to see.
What is a morning in DC without brunch? Dad and I went to Bread & Chocolate for some mochas and omelettes. After that, it was time for spa day at Georgetown Salon and Spa. I got my eyebrows done, a relaxing massage, a mani/pedi, and my hair done. My dad was so gracious sitting around waiting for me to be done and then it was time for every girl’s favorite thing… shopping! The shops in Georgetown are all so beautiful (shoutout Anthropologie and Free People). I got a couple of things so I figured I would do a haul on my Wednesday post so stay tuned (subscribe for email updates using the right tab at the top of the page so you never miss a post!).
In my element at Anthropologie. Gosh I could live in this store.
We stopped at Dean and Delucca for some quick drinks. I legitimately told my dad that I picked this drink solely because of how cute it was.
After all of the shopping, we tried out Baked and Wired cupcakes and I have to the say the locals are so right to say they are better than Sprinkles and Georgetown Cupcakes. I got a Red Velvet and we got mom a German Chocolate and Kenz a “Uniporns and Rainhos.” Dad and I went to dinner at Flavio which I have to say was absolutely amazing. I got Lobster Diavolo, which was heavenly. We went back to the room for dessert and High School Musical (and the best dad award for actually liking that movie goes to Dan the man).
Quick outfit change for dinner because it got really chilly, real quick.
Sunday was cut shorter than anticipated but that was ok. We got up and dad got me Starbucks while I was packing up to go. Then it was back off to school! I had so much fun and wish my mom and sister could have been there to enjoy it with us.
So that was a weekend in my life and a very special one at that! This week is a lot of preparation for tests and for that much anticipated spring break trip approaching. More posts to come this week!
p.s. I am trying to decide on the below 3 shoes of which to get for athleisure outfits and would love your input! Comment which ones you like best!
